HELLO,  I’M MEG

PHOTOGRAPHER • STORYTELLER • MOM

For more than a decade, I’ve built my creative career telling stories through film, television, and animation, including work at major Hollywood studios. Now, I tell stories through photographs.

I’m also a wife, a mom, a lifelong Disney girl (and former Walt Disney World performer!), and usually have some kind of fruity Starbucks drink in hand.

I’m drawn to the moments in between—the little laughs, tiny hands, genuine connections, and beautiful chaos that make your family yours.

Because the best photographs don’t just show what life looked like. They remind you what it felt like.

Photography runs in my family. My grandma’s first camera was a Canon. My mom’s first camera was a Canon. Both were film. And when it was finally my turn? My first camera was a Canon, too—just digital!

Our homes have always been filled with thousands of photographs: family, friends, landscapes, vacations, and all the everyday moments in between.

I started seriously exploring photography in high school, photographing seniors and engagements and even spending some time on the sidelines photographing my little brother’s hockey team.

Then Hollywood called.

For more than a decade, my career took me into the world of film, television, and animation. Photography may have taken a backseat professionally, but I never stopped taking pictures.

Now that I’ve stepped back from Hollywood and returned home to Illinois, it feels a little like coming full circle. I’m back behind the camera, and this time, I get to tell your family’s story.

I’m Deaf and hard of hearing and have worn a cochlear implant since I was a child. I was one of the earliest children to receive a cochlear implant—an experience that has been part of my story for nearly my entire life and has shaped the way I experience and connect with the world around me.

After years away building my career, I’m back home in Illinois and surrounded by many of the people who have been part of my story the longest. I love spending time with my husband and son, brother, sister in law, my niece and nephew, and the lifelong friends who have stood beside me through thick and thin—along with all of their kiddos, who have gotten very used to me always having a camera nearby.

Maybe that’s why photographing families means so much to me. I grew up in a family that documented life, and now I get to do the same for yours.
